About KilHat Tees

Who runs KilHat Tees?

KilHat Tees is a family-run shop founded by two siblings, Killian and Hannah Trahan, both college students in Texas. Killian studies Computer Science at the University of Houston, and Hannah studies CS/Data Science with a history minor at Southern Methodist University. What does “KilHat” mean?

It’s a mashup of our names — Killian and Hat (short for Hannah). We wanted a brand that represented both of us working toward our goals together.

Where are you based?

We’re based in Texas. Our products ship from print partner facilities throughout the United States (and occasionally internationally, depending on the item).


Sizing & Products

How do your sizes run?

Sizing varies by product because we work with several print partners, and each brand fits a little differently. Always check the size chart on the individual product page before ordering. If a size chart isn’t visible or you’re between sizes, email us and we’ll help you pick.

What are your products made of?

It depends on the item. Each product page lists material, care instructions, and product features in the description. If anything’s unclear, ask us before ordering.

Are your products true-to-size?

Most are, but some unisex apparel runs a touch larger and some women’s-cut items run a touch smaller. When in doubt, size up — we cannot exchange items for a different size (see our Refund Policy).

Are products made-to-order?

Yes. KilHat Tees is a print-on-demand brand — every item is custom-produced after you order. This is how we offer such a wide range of designs and sizes without holding inventory, and it reduces waste by only printing what’s actually purchased.


Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Production takes 2–7 business days (up to 10 for embroidered, all-over-print, or custom items). Shipping after production typically takes:

  • United States: 3–8 business days
  • Canada: 5–10 business days
  • International: 10–20 business days

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, to most countries. Shipping rates and times are calculated at checkout. International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes their country charges.

Why did my order arrive in multiple packages?

Because we use several fulfillment facilities, items in the same order may ship separately and arrive on different days. You’ll get tracking for each shipment.

How do I track my order?

You’ll get a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships. If you haven’t received tracking within 10 business days, email support@kilhattees.us with your order number.


Returns & Refunds

Can I return something if I don’t like it?

Because every item is made-to-order, we can’t accept returns for buyer’s remorse, wrong size, or wrong color. We will replace or refund items that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect. Full details in our Refund & Return Policy.

My item arrived damaged. What do I do?

Email support@kilhattees.us within 30 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the damage and packaging. We’ll work with our fulfillment partner to send a replacement or issue a refund.

Can I cancel an order?

Only within 12 hours of placing it, before production begins. Email us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.

Can I exchange a shirt for a different size?

Unfortunately no — because the new size has to be produced from scratch, exchanges aren’t possible. Please use the size chart before ordering. If you have questions about sizing before you buy, email us and we’ll help.


The KAT Education Fund

What is the KAT Education Fund?

KAT stands for Killian And Hannah Trahan — it’s the umbrella name for what our profits go toward. Every purchase from KilHat Tees directly supports our education goals:

  • Finishing college
  • Paying down student loans
  • Funding Hannah’s summer study program at Oxford
  • Repairing Killian’s 26-year-old Toyota Celica so he can keep commuting to school and work
  • Building a foundation for KilHat Tees to grow long-term

Is the KAT Education Fund a registered nonprofit or charity?

No. KilHat Tees is a small family-run business, not a registered nonprofit or 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The “KAT Education Fund” is the personal name we use for the goals our profits support — it’s not a separate legal entity.

Are my purchases tax-deductible?

No. Purchases from KilHat Tees are regular retail purchases — you’re buying a product, not making a charitable donation. They are not tax-deductible.

What about the “Donate to Hannah’s Oxford Fund” button — is that tax-deductible?

No. That button links to a personal PayPal contribution to support Hannah’s Oxford summer program. Because KilHat Tees and the KAT Education Fund are not registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits, contributions made through that link are considered personal gifts and are not tax-deductible as charitable donations. We want to be upfront about this so no one is surprised at tax time.

If tax-deductibility matters to you, please consult a tax professional or consider donating to a registered educational nonprofit instead.

How can I support without buying anything?

Three easy ways:

  1. Follow and share us on social media — every share helps a small brand more than you’d think.
  2. Leave a review on a product you’ve already bought.
  3. Tell a friend — word of mouth is everything for a brand our size.

Custom Orders, Wholesale & Collaborations

Can you make a custom design?

We’re a small team, but we love hearing custom design ideas — especially for school spirit pieces, memorial/storied items, or group orders. Email support@kilhattees.us with what you have in mind and we’ll let you know if we can do it.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?

For larger orders (team gear, school groups, events), email us and we’ll see what we can do.

Can my school, team, or organization partner with you?

Payment & Security

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and PayPal through our secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number — all payment processing is handled by our payment processors.

Is my information safe?

Yes. Our site uses SSL encryption and we work with established payment processors. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.

Do you store my credit card?

No. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) and never stored on our servers.
